Your stop-by-stop plan
Times, distances and spending are editorial planning estimates, not live navigation or guaranteed prices. Add time for queues, photos and rests.
STOP 1
09:00 · Lianhua Hill Park
Allow 90 minutes. Start at Children’s Palace and follow your map to the park. Walk towards the summit for the civic-axis view; choose the lower park paths if steps or heat are a problem.

Then walk towards Civic Center; allow 20–30 minutes depending on the park exit.
STOP 2
11:00 · Early lunch near the civic axis
Allow an hour around Shenzhen Book City. Choose a menu with displayed prices and take a break before the museum. This is a flexible meal stop, not a restaurant reservation.

Continue on foot to the History and Folk Culture branch in Civic Center Area A; allow 15–25 minutes.
STOP 3
12:30 · Shenzhen Museum: History and Folk Culture
Allow 2–3 hours. Choose this specific branch, not the Ancient Art museum on Tongxin Road. It gives context for the city beyond the skyline.

Afterwards spend 30–45 minutes around the public Civic Center square. Follow any on-site access changes.
STOP 4
16:00 · Shopping Park and dinner
From Civic Center take Line 4 one stop to Convention & Exhibition Center, then Line 1 one stop to Shopping Park. Allow 25–40 minutes including station walks. Browse and eat near COCO Park; finish when you like.

Return from Shopping Park on Line 1 or 3. No light-show performance is assumed in this plan.
Opening and admission
The museum’s official visitor page lists free individual admission without advance reservation, security screening, and normal Tuesday–Sunday hours of 10:00–18:00 (last entry 17:30). Holiday arrangements can differ. Bring your passport; check the museum notice before departure.

Rain, closures and a shorter day
In heavy rain, skip the hill. Start at Civic Center for the museum, then take the metro to Shopping Park. If the museum is closed, shorten the day or switch to the Huaqiangbei half-day rather than trying another unverified museum.
Before you leave
Best on a non-Monday. On Monday, use the park and food stops or choose the Huaqiangbei alternative. Do not build the day around a light show unless its current performance notice confirms it.
